Aukland: An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on richter scale hit the Auckland Islands of New Zealand on Wednesday, reported European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
According to GeoNet monitoring agency of New Zealand, the epicenter had been measured 33 kilometers below the earth’s surface.
There has been no immediate warning of tsunami and no damage to human lives and infrastructure have been reported as yet.
