SC to hear 'Practice and Procedure Act' case today
The apex court had issued notices to all the parties of the case.
Islamabad: Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear the four petitions filed against ‘Practice and Procedure Bill 2023’ today (Thursday) at 12:15pm, GNN reported.
According to detail, eight-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Atta Bandial comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Muzahir Naqvi, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the case.
The apex court had issued notices to all the parties of the case.
Petitions filed against the act stated that it is an interference in judicial affairs and freedom of judiciary. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also requested to declare the bill as null and void.
The court has barred the implementation of the bill, demanding the record of parliamentary proceedings.
