The court holds that a thorough examination of the case records revealed that Dr. Yasmin Rashid was neither named in the First Information Report (FIR) nor implicated through any supplementary statements.

Lahore: A Lahore court has acquitted Yasmin Rashid, a prominent leader of the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) party, in the Jinnah House attack case.
The anti-terrorism court issued the verdict on Saturday, holding that there was no evidence linking Rashid to the incident.
The court ordered her immediate release from custody.
ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan delivered the ruling, holding that a thorough examination of the case records revealed that Dr. Yasmin Rashid was neither named in the First Information Report (FIR) nor implicated through any supplementary statements. Her involvement was based solely on the disclosure of a co-accused, which the court deemed lacking in evidentiary value.
The court further emphasized that no substantial evidence implicating Rashid was discovered during the proceedings. Consequently, the order for her release was issued, as no incriminating material was found against her.

In response, the PTI asserted that Yasmin Rashid, a senior party leader, had been unjustly held in custody for 24 days under false pretenses, with the intention of spreading propaganda through media outlets.

The PTI's statement highlighted Rashid's exceptional background as an elderly woman battling cancer, who had dedicated her entire life to serving as a doctor and saving lives.
