Lahore: In a recent development, Jahangir Tareen, formerly associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has officially launched his own political party called the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party.
During a press conference held on Thursday, Tareen, alongside notable former PTI leaders including Aleem Khan and Imran Ismail, made the announcement regarding the formation of the new party.

Tareen, who played a pivotal role as a trusted aide to PTI Chairman Imran Khan and was instrumental in the PTI-led government's establishment in 2018, expressed his strong commitment to contribute actively to the advancement and betterment of the nation through his continued involvement in politics.
"We have gathered here unitedly to collectively work towards uplifting the nation from its current challenges," said Tareen, emphasizing the need for political leadership capable of effectively resolving the prevailing social, economic, and other issues faced by the country.
Jahangir Tareen, who parted ways with PTI when allegations of money laundering surfaced during the PTI-led government, highlighted the immense dedication and tireless efforts invested in strengthening the party. He hinted at future disclosures regarding their contributions to the PTI.
Tareen, who was permanently disqualified by the Supreme Court in 2017 on charges of possessing assets beyond means, also addressed the issue of vandalism on May 9. He urged for the swift prosecution of those responsible, warning of potential attacks on the residences of political adversaries if justice is not served.
Besides it, he stressed the urgent necessity for a fresh political leadership capable of leading the country towards progress, as public faith in the current political system diminished significantly. Tareen called upon the government and opposition to fulfill their constitutional duties, strengthening the nation's democracy. He revealed plans for the party's expansion with more individuals joining and pledged to unveil their reform agenda in the near future.
