Karachi:  PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that they would respond to their critics by their performance, asking the newly elected mayor and deputy mayor to fully cooperate with the provincial government to serve the people.

The PPP chairman said that it was for the first time that a mayor and deputy mayor who were elected for the city belonged to his party.

“Reject the politics of division and hate,” said Bilawal while advising the party leaders, especially Mayor Murtaza Wahab on the occasion of his oath ceremony.

He vowed that they would resolve the issues of the city with collective approach, adding that he would personally monitor the working.

He stated that the PPP was barred from electing its mayor in the past and the city was run on a phone call.   He advised the JI to work with the political parties, regretting that the JI went to Zaman Park and tried to capture Karachi with their [PTI] support despite that they were involved in attacking the military installations and May 9 incidents.

Bilawal said that they would perform better if they were given level playing field.

Responding to another question about boat capsizing off Greece coast, Bilawal said that it was very unfortunate incident, and the government authorities had already been working to stop illegal migrations.
