Nawaz Sharif eligible to contest elections under new law: Dar
Dar said Nawaz will come to Pakistan when party would want.
Islamabad: Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said that Nawaz Sharif's ban on contesting elections has ended, therefore under the new law he is eligible to contest elections.
While talking to a private news channel, Ishaq Dar said that Nawaz Sharif is going to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah from United Arab Emirates (UAE), after which he will go to England.
Responding to a question regarding, Dar said Nawaz will come to Pakistan when party would want as the case against him was the same in which Maryam Nawaz was acquitted, now Nawaz Sharif will also be acquitted.
The finance minister stated that economy which was close to default in 2013, “The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo made it the 24th largest economy in the world in 2017, so we need his leadership”.
While speaking on the same occasion, the minister said the eight months were very difficult, people from my team used to say that an agreement with International Monetary Fund (IMF) would not be possible, but I told them that it should be done in the last week of June.
The senator continued to say that after the approval of Executive Board of IMF, Pakistan will get an installment of one-tenth of one billion dollars this month and there is a possibility that Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves will reach 14 billion dollars this month.
