Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday expressed strong condemnation regarding the permission granted for the public desecration of the Torah and Bible in Sweden.

The Foreign Office issued a statement on Saturday, emphasizing that offensive acts of religious hatred cannot be justified under the pretext of freedom of expression and opinion.

Highlighting Islam as a religion of peace, the Foreign Office reaffirmed that Islam advocates respect for all religions, sacred personalities, and Holy Scriptures. Pakistan consistently emphasized the importance of promoting mutual respect, harmony, and peaceful coexistence among different religions, faiths, and cultures, aligning with Islamic values.

The statement also urged the international community to unanimously condemn such reprehensible acts of religious hatred, which not only hurt the sentiments of believers but also constitute deliberate incitement. Pakistan calls for a united stance against these actions, preserving the dignity and sanctity of all religions.
