The court rejected the plea of Balochistan government to order an investigation involving Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf, while Justice Yahya Khan Afridi said that the accused will have to appear at the next hearing as well.

PTI chief appeared in the court in his personal capacity while his lawyer Latif Khosa, Prosecutor General and Advocate General Balochistan also appeared in the court.

Justice Yahya inquired whether the petitioner is present in the court, on which Chairman PTI made his attendance while standing on the seat.

Arguments could not be given due to the absence of the lawyer of the plaintiff in the lawyer murder case.

On the inquiry of court, Advocate General Balochistan told the court that according to First Information Report (FIR), they want to investigate the accused.

He requested the court to direct PTI chairman to appear before the investigating officer.

The court rejected the appeal of the prosecutor to include chairman of PTI in the investigation. Justice Yahya Khan Afridi remarked: “Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan has filed a report, we have to look at few matters. Two weeks date is appropriate and will not go beyond that”.

Supreme Court restrained police from arresting former Prime Minister in the lawyer's murder case till August 09 stating that the accused will have to appear in the upcoming hearing as well.

On the other hand, Chairman PTI while talking informally to the journalists in the court room said that he expects justice from the Supreme Court.

In response to a question about making Ishaq Dar caretaker prime minister, the party chief stated: “There could be no bigger joke”.

When asked if there was any contact with the political parties or the establishment, he replied there have been no backdoor negotiations yet.

On the occasion of the appearance of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf in the Supreme Court, Islamabad Police as well as FC personnel were deployed in large numbers for security.
