Anwaar-ul-Haq to be caretaker PM
The decision was made in the meeting with prime minister.
Islamabad: It has been decided that on Saturday Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Anwaar-ul-Haq Kaakar will be the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan.
According to details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and opposition leader Raja Riaz held a consultation regarding caretaker prime minister today at Prime Minister House, after which Shehbaz Sharif left for Lahore.
Talking to the media representatives after meeting with Prime Minister, opposition leader Raja confirmed that Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has been named the Caretaker Prime Minister.
Raja Riaz said that Shehbaz Sharif and him have agreed to make Anwaar-ul-Haq the caretaker Prime Minister. PM has also signed this decision.
After Prime Minister’s and opposition leader Riaz agreed on the name of caretaker prime minister, after signing the summary, the recommendation has been sent to the President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Prime Minister's Office confirmation
In a statement released by spokesperson of Prime Minister's Office, it has been said that the name of Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq has been agreed upon for the Caretaker Prime Minister.
Spokesman Prime Minister's Office said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked the leader of the opposition for his cooperation in the consultation process. He also thanked him for leading the opposition as the best in 16 months.
Senator Anwar, who belongs to Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), was elected as a senator in 2018 and is the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee of Overseas Pakistanis.
