Sirajul Haq asks ECP to hold elections immediately
The Jamat-e-Islami chief emphasizes that the government's term had concluded and, in line with constitutional stipulations, elections should take place within 90 days.
Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday urged the Election Commission to revisit its decision and promptly declare forthcoming elections.
Sirajul Haq emphasized that the government's term had concluded and, in line with constitutional stipulations, elections should take place within 90 days. He made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Mansurah.
Accusing the PDM and PPP of colluding to delay the elections, Sirajul Haq called upon the Election Commission to reassess its verdict and promptly announce the electoral schedule. He urged the caretaker government to ensure transparent elections instead of indulging in delays.
Haq appealed to the public to select capable leadership during the elections, underlining that the resolution of challenges lies in their hands.
