First special court established under Official Secrets Act
According to the law, the hearing of cases under the Official Secrets Act will be held in camera.
Islamabad: A special court has been established in the country under Official Secrets Act.
According to details, the additional charge of the Official Secrets Act Court has been handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Abul Hasnat who will hear the cases registered under the Official Secrets Act.
A court of Official Secrets Act has been established across the country which is in Islamabad. According to the law, the hearing of cases under the Official Secrets Act will be held in camera.
It has been reported that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was arrested in the cypher case, will be produced in the Official Secret Act court after sometime today (Monday).
Notably, National Assembly had passed the Official Secrets Act and the Army Act Amendment Bills and three days ago both the Acts became laws after the approval of President of Pakistan.
However, there was a sudden uproar in the country yesterday (Sunday) when President Dr. Arif Alvi turned to social media website ‘X’ and stated that neither he sign the Official Secrets Act and the Army Act Amendment Bill nor he agrees with it.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have severely criticized the President of Pakistan for his statement and demanded his resignation.
While PTI has announced to approach the Supreme Court after the statement of President of Pakistan.
