Pakistan's exports decline by over 12%
The report stated that the export of leather goods fell by 11%, the volume was 44.7 million dollars.
Islamabad: In the first month of the current financial year, exports recorded a decline of more than 12 percent, compared to June, exports were $290 million lower in July.
The report on exports stated that in the first month of the current fiscal year 2023-24, a decrease of 12.23% was recorded in exports.
According to the document, exports of textiles, leather, sports goods, food, feathers, engineering goods, carpets, shoes, petroleum and coal decreased while exports of surgical goods, cement, sugar, plastic materials and oil seeds increased.
The report stated that the export of leather goods fell by 11%, the volume was 44.7 million dollars.
Food export declined by 7.56% and the volume was 329.1 million dollars, while the export of rice, vegetables and tobacco also recorded a decrease.
According to the report, the export of sports goods decreased by 10.81% and the volume was 2.6 million dollars. Surgical goods were exported with an increase of 3% to 3.39 million dollars. The export of sugar doubled and its value was 3.466 million dollars.
The export of plastic material increased by 24 percent to 21.6 million dollars and the export of auto parts recorded a 4.52 percent increase with a volume of 1.8 million dollars, the report told.
