Relief for Maryam Nawaz from SC in Sugar Mills case
NAB submitted a written statement to the court, it was stated that NAB no longer has jurisdiction over the case after amendments.
Islamabad: Chief organizer Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz Tuesday got relief from the Supreme Court in the Sugar Mills case.
According to details, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Atta Bandial heard the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal to cancel Maryam Nawaz's bail.
NAB withdrew Maryam Nawaz's bail application, responding to which the Supreme Court disposed of the application.
A written statement was submitted to the court by NAB in which it was stated that NAB no longer has jurisdiction over the case after the amendments.
The Chief Justice said that the application is dismissed on the basis of withdrawal. NAB prosecutor stated that instead of dismissal, it should be written disposed of in the order sheet. To which the Chief Justice asked why you would like it. At the same time, the court ended the petition over withdrawal.
