Babar Azam slips to ninth spot in ICC Test ranking
Karachi: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam slipped to the ninth spot in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Test ranking.
Babar Azam’s first-ball duck in the test match played against Zimbabwe became the reason for his dip from the sixth to ninth spot in the test ranking.
There is not a single Pakistani bowler or all-rounder who could make it to the top ten in ICC test ranking. While India’s Rohit Sharma has moved to the eighth spot, New Zealand’s captain Kane William continues to enjoy his top rank as the best test batsman in the world.
On the other hand, Fawad Alam, who recently made a comeback to the Pakistan cricket team, has moved up 31 spots to be placed on No. 47. Fawad’s excellent innings of 140 helped him elevate his spot in the ICC test ranking.
When it comes to bowling, Shaheen Shah Afridi improved his ranking by 2 spots to be placed at No. 31. While Hassan Ali, after his impressive nine wickets against Zimbabwe has moved up 15 spots and ranked as 20th best bowler.
The best bowler in the latest ICC Test ranking is New Zealand’s Patt Cummins while West Indies Jason Holder is ranked as the best all-rounder.
In ODI Men ranking Babar Azam dominates as the top batsman and Fakhar Zaman retains the seventh spot.
