Interim bail of Asad Umar extended till Sept 14 in cypher case
After hearing the parties, the court extended Asad's interim bail till September 14, ordering him to undergo investigation.
Islamabad: The interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former finance minister Asad Umar has been extended till September 14 in the cypher case.
According to details, a hearing on cypher case was held in the Official Secret Act Court of Islamabad which was heard by Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zulqarnain.
Former Finance Minister Asad Umar appeared in the court along with his lawyer Babar Awan while Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi appeared in the court on behalf of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
After hearing the parties, the court extended Asad's interim bail till September 14, ordering him to undergo investigation.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Asad Umar said: “The former Prime Minister Imran Khan has given his answer to FIA regarding cypher,” adding that cypher is a classified document that cannot come out of the Foreign Office.
He further said that whoever has it will either have a copy or translation of the cypher, the original cypher never leaves the Foreign Office.
