Shakira accused of tax evasion for second time in Spain
The 46-year old singer is aware of the new charges, her legal team based in Miami, where she currently resides, did not receive official notification as of yet.

Barcelona: Spanish authorities on Wednesday brought forth fresh tax evasion charges against internationally renowned Colombian singer Shakira, marking the second time she faced such allegations by the Spanish government.
The prosecutors in Spain alleged that Shakira committed tax fraud amounting to €6.7 million ($7.1 million, £5.8 million) in 2018, pointing out that this financial misconduct transpired when the artist failed to declare substantial earnings, including advance payments associated with her El Dorado World Tour, along with other significant financial transactions.
The commencement of this second investigation was in July 2023, with details of the case made public recently.
Shakira, 46 years old, is aware of the new charges, her legal team based in Miami, where she currently resides, did not receive official notification as of yet. Their immediate focus remains on preparing for her upcoming trial, scheduled to commence on November 20th.
This trial pertains to tax-related matters from 2012 to 2014, during which Shakira has been accused of failing to pay €14.5 million ($15.3 million, £12.6 million) in taxes. Throughout this period, she has consistently asserted her innocence.
The fresh allegations hinge on Shakira's residency in Barcelona alongside football star Gerard Pique in 2018. The prosecutors argued that her presence in Spain during this period obligated her to report all her international income within the country.
Instead, they contend that she diverted her earnings to entities situated in countries with favorable tax conditions and limited financial transparency.
The Colombian superstar now confronted a total of six distinct tax-related charges in Barcelona, with her trial set to take place in November. Despite the legal challenges before her, Shakira remains resolute in denying any wrongdoing.
