SC imposes fine of Rs1,00,000 on lawyer

Supreme Court added that the petitioner had filed a baseless and fabricated case in the past for which he was fined.

Islamabad: The Supreme Court Thursday imposed a fine of Rs1,00,000 on a lawyer for wasting court time in a property case.

According to details, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa heard the property case.

The Supreme Court ordered lawyer Ghulam Farid to pay a fine of Rs1,00,000 for wasting court time.

The apex court said that frivolous and frivolous litigation has been demonstrated before, the court generally shows flexibility.

Supreme Court added that the petitioner had filed a baseless and fabricated case in the past for which he was fined.

It has been ordered by the Supreme Court that the amount of damages should be paid to the parties, there is a civil court forum for non-payment of damages.

It is pertinent to note that the High Court had also fined the petitioner Rs2,00,000 for frivolous litigation.
