Chennai:  In a high-stakes encounter at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday, Pakistan has set a formidable target of 283 runs for Afghanistan.

This match holds utmost importance for the both teams, as they vie for victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Pakistan's innings were marked by impressive performances, with Babar Azam leading the charge by amassing 74 runs from 92 deliveries. Abdullah Shafique contributed a valuable 58 runs off 75 balls. The  partnership of Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed added 80 runs to Pakistan's tally. The Pakistani batsmen exhibited unwavering dedication as they aimed to maximize their scoring opportunities.

Despite their determined efforts, Pakistan lost seven wickets in the process, ultimately reaching a total of 282 runs against a resilient Afghanistan. The Afghan bowlers played a pivotal role in containing the Pakistani innings, with Noor Ahmed being the standout performer, taking three wickets for 49 runs in his ten overs. Naveen-ul-Haq also played a crucial role, securing two wickets for 52 runs across seven overs, while Muhammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai each contributed with one wicket.
