Mumbai: Sri Lanka could only make 55 runs in reply of India’s huge 357-run total after a lethal display of fast-bowling by Shami, Siraj and Bumrah in Match 33 of ICC World Cup 2023 here at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Mohammed Shami bagged a fifer while Mohammed Siraj bagged three to give the hosts a win of 302-run margin. With this win, India have become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.
Earlier, Virat Kohli missed out on equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time record of 49 one-day international hundreds but still helped India to an imposing 357-8 against Sri Lanka.
