JUI-F criticizes President Alvi, demands his removal ahead of general elections
JUI-F Spokesperson Aslam Ghauri says Dr. Arif Alvi's actions have undermined the dignity of his role as the head of state.
Peshawar: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has expressed its concerns over the implications for Pakistan and its constitution if Dr. Arif Alvi continues to hold the office of President.
The JUI-F shared the statement of its Spokesperson Aslam Ghauri in which he said that Dr. Arif Alvi's actions undermined the dignity of his role as the head of state.
The statement elaborated, “Throughout various critical events such as the no-confidence motion, assembly dissolution, and the setting of election dates, the incumbent president's involvement has consistently sparked controversy,”.
JUI-F maintains the viewpoint that Dr. Alvi should step down from the presidency prior to the forthcoming general elections. The party further asserted that, considering the alleged wrongdoings attributed to President Alvi, his place should be in Attock Jail rather than the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidential Palace). The JUI-F is led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
