CJP bars from writing SC as High Judiciary
The Chief Justice issued orders not to call the Supreme Court the ‘High Judiciary’ and also wrote the decision for it.
Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa Tuesday barred the authorities from writing Supreme Court as ‘High Judiciary’.
According to the details, a bail case was under hearing in the court when the Chief Justice expressed his displeasure when the lawyer called the Supreme Court as High Judiciary.
The Chief Justice issued orders not to call the Supreme Court the ‘High Judiciary’ and also wrote the decision for it.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that the word ‘judiciary’ for the Supreme Court was not written in the Constitution. According to the Constitution of Pakistan, it should be called only the Supreme Court.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had banned the use of the word ‘Sir’ for government officials, saying that the word ‘Sir’ does not reflect a free nation.
Few months ago, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said in his remarks that it is not correct to write the word ‘Honorable’ along with Supreme Court and High Courts.
