Imran Khan's nomination papers also face objection

Lahore: After Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, objection has also been filed against the nomination papers of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Scrutiny of nomination papers continues for the third day during which the nomination papers of chief organizer and senior vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been objected after which on the same day objection has also been filed on nomination papers of Imran Khan.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mian Naseer filed the objection against the paper of Imran Khan in NA-122 constituency of Lahore.

Mian Naseer submitted objection to Imran Khan's nomination papers to the Returning Officer stating that the PTI founder is a convicted person, therefore he is not eligible to contest the election.

It is pertinent to note that a petition was filed against Maryam Nawaz by a citizen of Sargodha to the Returning Officer alleging that the signature of candidate PP-80 has been forged.

The petitioner said that Maryam Nawaz has been convicted in various cases, her papers should be rejected by objecting.

Earlier, an objection to Bilawal Bhutto's nomination papers was filed by a citizen from Lahore's Constituency NA-127.

In the petition, it was argued that Bilawal Bhutto showed his affiliation with PPP Parliamentarians in his nomination papers, while PPP and PPP Parliamentarians are separate political parties.

The petition further stated that Bilawal is the Chairman of PPP and Asif Ali Zardari is the President of People's Party Parliamentarians.
