Lahore: Zaka Ashraf on Friday officially resigned from his position as the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee.

Mr. Ashraf, who assumed the role in July of the previous year following Najam Sethi, submitted his resignation to caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. Simultaneously, he also decided to step down as a member of the board of governors, effectively withdrawing his candidacy for the PCB chairman slot.

In his statement regarding the resignation, Ashraf expressed, "I was working for the betterment of cricket."

This development follows the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) preventing Ashraf from conducting a crucial IMC meeting in Karachi earlier this week.
