Israeli attacks on Gaza continue, despite decision of ICJ

Despite the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Israeli attacks on Gaza continued. At least 11 Palestinians, including Palestinian journalist Ayad al-Wagh, were martyred in the Israeli attack on the Nusirat camp. The number of martyrs in the last 24 hours has exceeded 183.

Fierce fighting continued near Al-Aqsa University, Al-Nasr, Al-Amal and Al-Khair hospitals in Khan Yunis where heavy shelling and firing by the Israeli army continued.

Israeli forces surrounded Al-Amal school while Palestinians waiting for help were also fired upon.

On the other hand, Hezbollah has released a video of targeting the Israeli spy dome.

It is pertinent to note that three days ago, 21 officers of the engineering unit of the Israeli army were killed in a counter attack by the Palestinian resistance. On the occasion of the burial of these dead military personnel, the brother of an Israeli soldier, overcome with grief, exploded on the Israeli minister, Benny Gantz. He also tried to attack Gantz in the graveyard, the video of which was shared on Al- Arabiya Urdu.

Due to the grief of his brother, the man started shouting, “You have to end the war, my brother did not die for any reason, this is the fuel of the war you started”.

In addition, the Israeli newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’ reported that CIA director William Burns and Mossad chief David Brenna will meet Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani in Europe for the release of 132 hostages held by Hamas and a temporary ceasefire.

In this regard, White House spokesman John Kirby told reporters that the head of the CIA is making efforts to return the hostages.

Decision of ICJ against Israel on genocide of Palestinians

It is pertinent to note that the International Court of Justice declared in its interim decision on the request of South Africa regarding the genocide of Palestinians by Israel that some of the accusations of genocide of Palestinians by Israel are true. Israel should allow humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Out of the 17-member panel of the ICJ, 16 judges were present and the President of the court delivered the interim verdict.

15 judges of the International Court of Justice supported the decision and two opposed, while the emergency orders of the ICJ were passed by a majority of 2-15.

The International Court said in the interim decision that many lives and infrastructure have been lost in the Israeli attacks in response to the Hamas attack. Many United Nations (UN) agencies have presented resolutions against the Israeli attacks.

The ICJ expressed concern about the human loss in Gaza that the Israeli attacks in Gaza have caused massive civilian deaths and the Court is aware of the extent of the human tragedy in Gaza.

It also rejected the Israeli request to suspend the Gaza Genocide case and declared that it will not dismiss the Genocide case against Israel. There is enough evidence of the Genocide case against Israel. Some accusations of genocide against Israel fall within the provisions of the convention.
