US urges Pakistan to ensure transparency of recent elections
The opinion of Pakistani people needs to be respected, Karen Jean-Pierre continued.
Washington DC: The US spokesperson said that they have urged Pakistan to ensure the transparency of the recent elections.
While giving a briefing in Washington, White House spokesperson Karen Jean-Pierre stated: “US President Joe Biden is aware of the elections in Pakistan and knows that millions of Pakistanis, including women and youth, have come out to vote in the Pakistani elections”.
Karen Jean-Pierre added that in private and public communications, the Pakistani government and politicians have made it clear that respecting public mandate and ensuring transparency in the electoral process is very important and necessary.
United States is proud to stand with like-minded democracies. The opinion of Pakistani people needs to be respected, she continued.
While, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller also said that US has demanded an investigation into the allegations on the elections in Pakistan.
Giving a press briefing in Washington, Matthew Miller stated that such allegations should be fully investigated not only in Pakistan but everywhere in the world, that is why they will continue to demand investigation of the allegations.
They are looking forward to working with the newly elected government once it is formed. The coalition government is an internal matter of Pakistan, he added.
