PHC upheld the decision of the Appellate Tribunal and dismissed the petitions against the approval of their documents.


Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) Tuesday dismissed the appeals by upholding the decision of the Appellate Tribunal against the approval of the papers of Senate election candidates Murad Saeed, Azam Swati and others.
Justice Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmed of Peshawar High Court heard the petition filed by Murad Saeed against approval of papers for Senate elections.
During the hearing, Murad Saeed's lawyer told the court that Taj Muhammad Afridi has withdrawn the papers, now he is not a Senate candidate, therefore, he cannot object.
At the same time, Amir Javed Advocate took the position in the court that Taj Muhammad Afridi is an objector since the beginning. He was also a candidate when filing the application. While, Murad Saeed did not provide correct details regarding the cases, Murad did not disclose the assets while he has not submitted the fine imposed for violating the code of conduct.
Amir Javed Advocate told the court that Murad Saeed's papers were rejected for not submitting the fine to the National Assembly. The appeal has to be filed by himself, but Murad Saeed is absconding.
On this, Justice Arshad Ali remarked that the Supreme Court has made it clear about the absconding, an application has been filed in the PHC for the details of the cases, while the assets have been disclosed, the documents of Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) are present.
Justice Arshad Ali in his remarks further said that Murad Saeed's confirmation and endorser himself appeared before the Returning Officer (RO), how can the signature be fake. Murad Saeed also signed, the video was also shown to the RO.
Later, the PHC upheld the decision of the Appellate Tribunal and dismissed the petitions against the approval of documents of Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, Faisal Javed, Khurram Zeeshan and Azhar Mashwani.
