Lahore hosts interfaith iftar, Easter dinner for religious harmony
People from different backgrounds including Ali Abbas Zaidi, head of social organization Hive Pakistan from Islamabad, Zahid Rafiq Bhatti, president of Punjab Union of Journalists from Lahore, Hasnain Tirmizi general secretary, and others were present there on the occasion.
Lahore: In collaboration with the social organization Hive Pakistan and Community Innovation Lab, a Muslim-Christian Iftar and Easter dinner was organized to further improve the atmosphere of religious harmony in the Christian population of Jaranula, in which a group of Muslim and Christian men and women participated.
A large number of people participated in the ceremony including Ali Abbas Zaidi, head of social organization Hive Pakistan from Islamabad, Zahid Rafiq Bhatti, president of Punjab Union of Journalists from Lahore, Hasnain Tirmizi general secretary, Maulana Asim Makhdoom, president of Kul Masalik Ulema Board, National Peace Committee were present on the occasion.
In addition to President Maulana Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi, Finance Secretary of PUJ Khawar Baig, Member of the Executive Committee of PUJ, Murtaza Bajwa, Senator Jamshed Bukhari, Ms. Andalib Bhatti, Wajid Zahid, Kashf Ali, Maulana Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Mufti Muhammad Khalid, Agha Sagheer, Abbas virk, Allama Ghulam Abbas Shirazi, Hasan Raza, Apart from Fawad Khan, Daniyal Ali,Assistant Commissioner of Jardanwala, Abdul Hanan Khan, President of Jardanwala Press Club, Sajjad Qadri, and many other people participated in the iftar dinner .
It is pertinent to mention here that This is the same Christian population that was set on fire by some miscreants in August last year, in which several churches and houses of Christian people were burnt.
Ali Abbas Zaidi, Head of Hive Pakistan Organization, said that since this tragedy, we have started working for our Christian Pakistani brothers by providing them wh food, shelter etc. we Helped them to stand up so that they too can lead a dignified life like a common Pakistan, he concluded.
