The information of dual citizenship is not required from any lawyer while becoming a judge of the High Court

Islamabad: The Registrar Office of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday responded to Senator Faisal Vawda's letter.
In the reply issued by the Registrar Office, it was stated that the Constitution of Pakistan does not disqualify the citizenship or residence of another country to become a judge. The information of dual citizenship is not required from any lawyer while becoming a judge of the High Court.
The court replied that Justice Athar Minullah made this clear in the proceedings of the case on the letter of the six judges. The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) approved the appointment of Justice Babar Sattar as a judge after a discussion, this court does not keep a record of the discussion in the Judicial Commission.
The Registrar's Office has also replied Faisal Vawda that the High Court's press release explained that Justice Babar Sattar had told the then Chief Justice that he was a green card holder. Faisal had asked Justice Babar for a record of providing information about being a green card holder before being appointed.
