Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has fulfilled her promise by launching the 'Golden Hour' rescue air ambulance service today, a first in Pakistan's history.

41-year old Haleema Bibi from Mianwali was the first beneficiary of the service who was airlifted to Rawalpindi for urgent medical treatment.

She had fallen from a roof and was critically injured.

The Chief Minister had directed to transfer her by air ambulance service.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minsiter Maryam Nawaz had announced to launch air-amublance across the province to faciliate the public. She had said that this project would directly benefit the masses, especially those who get trapped in far flung areas, and need medical care. The air ambulance, she said, would help the people in need to have access to the hospitals in big cities.
