Naqvi, Liaquat Baloch discuss sit-in demands

Lahore: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a telephonic contact with the Deputy Amir of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch and they discussed the sit-in demands.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the government seriously wants talks with Jamat-e-Islami.

On this, Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch said that a 50 percent discount should be given to consumers who use 500 units in electricity bills. The slab rates should be abolished in electricity bills, capacity payment and dollar payment agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) should be terminated.

Liaquat Baloch further said that the cruel burden of taxes on the poor salaried class and the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products should be withdrawn, and the petroleum development levy should also be abolished.
