Ushna Shah reacts to criticism on her clothes
Actress says she is "over it," and 'moral policing' from her Pakistani audience no longer affects her

Lahore: Pakistani actor Ushna Shah has addressed the relentless criticism surrounding her clothing, making it clear that it’s not her husband who takes issue with her style but rather her followers.
The Checkh star has frequently been targeted by online trolls and faced continuous scrutiny over her fashion choices, a situation she has addressed on multiple occasions.
Now, Ushna said that she is "over it," and the 'moral policing' from her Pakistani audience no longer affects her.
"A girl from a liberal background, who grew up in Canada and wore shorts etc. with her friends is now married to a white man from a similar background who doesn’t care if she shows her legs when they’re abroad," Ushna shared in an Instagram story.
She also referenced the controversy that arose among Pakistani netizens over her wedding dress and her dancing at the event.
In a sharp response to her critics, the Baala actor expressed regret over apologizing for her wedding attire, calling it "the biggest mistake" as it emboldened her critics to continue attacking her for the same issue.
Ushna pointed out that those who criticize her clothing are the same people who "drool over" Bollywood dancers like Nargis Fakhri, a fellow Pakistani and Muslim, while harshly judging her for having a liberal upbringing that differs from theirs.
“I’m too old to cater to your hypocrisy. I choose to live my life and be happy,” the Habs actor concluded.
It may be mentioned here that Ushna’s red lehnga and choli at her wedding sparked controversy in the country, with some viewing it as an endorsement of Indian culture. The backlash led her to apologize for 'hurting the sentiments' of her fans and eventually deactivate her account to take a break from the uproar.
