Minister says that food security is the biggest challenge being faced by the country


Lahore: Federal Minister for Planning & Development Ahsan Iqbal has said continuation of economic policies and political stability is imperative for national growth and we need to focus next five years.
Addressing 2nd National School of Public Policy Conference on Food Security in Lahore today, he said youth empowerment and the role of women in the national economy are vital for the progress of the country
Ahsan Iqbal said that food security is the biggest challenge being faced by the country.
He termed country's overpopulation as a main problem regarding food security.
He said that due to climate change, Pakistan is facing various challenges.
The Minister said that Pakistan is blessed with multiple resources and there is a dire need to utilize these resources amicably and effectively. Ahsan Iqbal said that we have to adopt modern technology.
He informed that Pakistan will be sending 1,000 agricultural scientists to china in the coming months, who will learn modern cultivation techniques.
