Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar officially inaugurates three-day Urs celebrations

Lahore: The three-day Urs celebrations honoring the great Sufi saint Hazrat Ali Bin Usman, also known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), commenced on Saturday in Lahore. This marks the 981st Urs of the revered saint.
The event was officially inaugurated by Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He was joined by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin and other prominent leaders from the PML-N. Punjab Auqaf Secretary Dr. Tahir Raza Bukhari and other officials were also in attendance.
Security was tightened around the shrine during the celebrations. Milk and other food offerings were brought to the shrine, where they were distributed among the devotees. Mahafil-e-Sama (Qawwali sessions) were organized in Sama Hall to honor the saint's legacy.
Religious scholars and clerics delivered special sermons during the Urs, highlighting the spiritual contributions of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA).
Thousands of devotees, both men and women, visited the shrine to pay their respects and express their devotion.
Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh, also known as Hazrat Ali Hajvery, was a renowned Sufi saint and scholar of the 11th century. He is celebrated for his contributions to Islamic mysticism, particularly in the South Asian region. His masterpiece, "Kashf-ul-Mahjoob" (Revelation of the Veiled), remains an essential text in Sufi literature.
