Mpox cases on high in KP, third case reported
Condition of the patient is better and is currently undergoing treatment at Services Hospital
Peshawar: The cases of monkeypox are increasing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as third case has been confirmed in the province.
Director of Public Health Dr Irshad Roghani said that one patient was transferred from Peshawar Airport to Services Hospital. Later, the public health laboratory confirmed the monkeypox virus in that patient.
He stated that fortunately the condition of the patient is better and is currently undergoing treatment at Services Hospital. The patient belongs to the Orakzai tribal district.
According to Dr Irshad Roghani, the number of monkeypox cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased to three this year.
On the other hand, another suspected case of monkeypox also came to light in Karachi.
According to airport authorities, suspected symptoms of monkeypox were found in a passenger who arrived in Karachi from Saudi Arabia.
The authorities reported that the suspected monkeypox passenger had been shifted to Sindh Government Hospital.
The officials of Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital said that the patient had itching and red spots on his body, he came with suspected symptoms of monkeypox.
According to the hospital authorities, the suspected patient has been transferred to the isolation ward. After receiving the reports, the monkeypox can be confirmed.
