Cellular service restricted, roads blocked amid PTI’s power show
The slowdown is attributed to increased restrictions and security measures
Islamabad: Amid the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally, scheduled today in Sangjani, Islamabad, citizens of twin city are facing mobile and internet slowdown.
The slowdown is attributed to increased restrictions and security measures around the venue of PTI’s public gather.
Besides the residents in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as other areas, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are facing similar issues with internet speed due to these restrictions.
Meanwhile, numerous roads in Islamabad have been blocked with containers, and additional police forces have been deployed for security.
Containers have also been placed on the Expressway at Khanna Bridge, and Murree Road has been closed at Faizabad.
Moreover, roads leading from Rawat T-Chowk to Rawalpindi have been blocked with containers, while the Faizabad Interchange has been completely sealed off.
Police have ordered the hotels, shops and guesthouses to remain close during PTI’s power show.
According to the instructions issued no accommodations, food, or services are to be provided in the area from today until September 9.
The notice, issued by the Sangjani police, warned that legal action would be taken against any violations.
