IMF predicts continuous decline in inflation in Pakistan

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted a continuous decrease in inflation in Pakistan.

In a report, the IMF estimated that Pakistan's average inflation will remain in the single digits for five consecutive years, and the World Financial Institution predicted that inflation will be lower than the government's target this financial year.

Inflation in Pakistan is expected to remain in the single digits at 9.5 percent in the current fiscal year, according to the IMF.

It is pertinent to note that for the current financial year, the government has set an average inflation target of 12 percent in double digits.

According to the IMF, the average inflation in Pakistan is expected to be 7.8 percent in the fiscal year 2026-25.

The IMF has estimated the average inflation in Pakistan at 6.5 percent for the fiscal years 2026-27, 2027-28, and 2028-29 as well.
