Google Maps adds new feature of air quality
AQI feature provides hourly updates regarding air quality.
California: A new feature is being introduced in Google Maps that will allow users to know about the air quality of their area.
This feature will make it possible to check the average Air Quality Index (AQI) readings of different regions in real-time.
It aims to make air quality monitoring easier and has been extended to more than 100 countries.
The AQI feature provides hourly updates regarding air quality.
To use this feature, users will have to open the web version of Google Maps and select the air quality option by clicking on the ‘layers’ icon.
This will help users know about the air quality of their area or city to decide about traveling.
With this feature, it will be possible to see the readings from one to 500 in the Air Quality Index.
It is pertinent to note that an AQI reading of 0 to 50 is considered good or, let's say, does not cause harm to health.
51 to 100 is considered acceptable but may cause minor harm to the health of sensitive people, 101 to 200 is considered moderate, 201 to 300 is poor, 301 to 400 is considered very poor, and 401 to 500 is considered very dangerous.
The new feature of Google Maps has just started to be introduced and will gradually be available to all users.
