Naqvi, Saudi Deputy Interior Minister discuss bilateral relations
They discussed the suppression of mafia that sends beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia
Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Dr Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood. Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki was also present on the occasion.
In the meeting between the two leaders, matters of mutual interest and the promotion of Pak-Saudi relations were discussed, while mutual exchanges of paramilitary forces and police and joint training issues were also discussed.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi proposed declaring Islamabad and Riyadh as twin cities, which the Saudi minister agreed to, and it was decided in the meeting that further necessary steps would be taken in this regard.
Mohsin Naqvi and the Saudi Deputy Interior Minister discussed the suppression of the mafia that sends beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia and also agreed to implement the prisoner exchange agreement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Interior Minister said that the legal process for the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia will be completed soon. Saudi Arabia is our brotherly Islamic country and we will provide all possible cooperation to promote bilateral cooperation.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the names of 4,300 beggars have been added to the Exit Control List (ECL). A zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against beggars going to Saudi Arabia, and an effective crackdown is being carried out across the country against such beggar mafia.
He added that there is no visa for Saudi citizens to come to Pakistan, they can come to Pakistan whenever they want.
Federal Interior Minister Naqvi praised the Vision 2030 of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and said that under the current leadership, Saudi Arabia will achieve a prominent position in the world in the economic and social sectors by 2030.
On this occasion, the Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia said that they have very close relations with Pakistan which why want to further promote. They are ready for mutual exchanges and joint training of paramilitary forces and police.
