Destined for Saudi Arabia, Pakistan passenger plane lands in Nairobi

In a strange goof-up, over 100 Pakistanis found themselves at Nairobi instead of Riyadh, which is around 6,621.7 kilometres away from their intended destination.

The miscommunication between ground staff and the pilots caused this unintended ‘detour’.

As per details, passengers departed for Saudi Arabia via a connecting flight of a private airline, Kenya Airways, and got stuck in Kenyan capital after the Saudi authorities rejected the entrance of the Pakistani people under coronavirus related standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Reportedly, it emerged that the passengers were left unattended in Nairobi airport and faced trouble due to the wrong strategy of the travel agent.

However, the travelers now have to quarantine for 14 days in Nairobi.

Following anti-COVID SOPs, the Pakistani passengers have not been given permission to enter the Kingdom and the flight took the passengers to the Nairobi airport.
