London: Eight ex-employees of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) won a case of unfair dismissal in a London court.

The London court ordered the ex-employees to be paid 500,000 pounds in compensation and the court declared that the Employment Act had been violated in this case.

It is pertinent to note that PIA had dismissed eight employees two years ago after which they took a stand in the court that they were unfairly dismissed.

According to reports, the sacked employees had been associated with the national airline for 5-15 years.

PIA accepted before the court that it would pay £0.5 million as damages to these eight employees.
