Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is trying to convince banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to lay down arms and live like normal citizens.
The premier was giving an interview to TRT World’s Ali Mustafa in Islamabad today and said that government of Pakistan is trying to communicate with some TTP groups.
“I think some of the groups which form TTP want to talk to our government,” he said adding that we are in talking terms with them.
Khan further added that there are several group talks, but might be possible, that we could not get any reconciliation.
“I do not believe in military solutions, I am anti-military solutions,” he said adding that being a politician I believe that a political dialogue is the way ahead.
When questioned, if Afghan government is helping Pakistan in ongoing talking process with TTP members the premier replied, “Talks are taking place in Afghanistan”.
