Dengue claims seven lives in Lahore, Islamabad
Lahore: The dengue fever has claimed seven more lives across the country while infecting nearly 2,000 more people during the last 24 hours.
Five people died in Lahore where 1,562 patients were admitted to hospitals. Islamabad and Faisalabad also recorded one death each with 52 patients reported in the federal capital and 180 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the details, DHO Islamabad says that at present 3,985 people are suffering from dengue fever.
The number of dengue victims in the rural areas of Islamabad has risen to 2,316 after 25 new dengue cases came to light in the last 24 hours.
There are 1,669 dengue patients in urban areas of Islamabad. It should be noted that the number of deaths due to dengue in Islamabad has reached 17 so far.
At present, 1,629 dengue patients are being treated in Lahore's hospitals. As the dengue fever intensified, Panadol tablets, Paracetamol injections, and syrups have disappeared from the city's medical stores.
The total number of dengue deaths in the city was 53 and the number of victims exceeded 12,000, with 3341 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Corona is not over in Lahore yet as dengue mosquito attacks have intensified. Actor, director, and filmmaker Shamoon Abbasi has also contracted dengue fever.
Even thermometers for testing for dengue fever are not available in the market. Those who have stock have increased the prices many times over.
On the other hand, it was revealed that the data of dengue patients was hidden by the officials, the data from private hospitals were not uploaded on the dashboard, the data of deaths due to dengue is also being hidden in private hospitals.
Lack of accurate data on dengue patients has led to failure to prevent the disease.
It should be noted that dengue fever is caused by the bite of a particular type of mosquito. Significant symptoms of dengue fever include high fever, headache, nausea, severe joint and muscle pain, and diarrhea.
The risk of dengue mosquito bites is high in the early morning and at sunset, long sleeve shirt should be worn during these times, do not go out of the house unnecessarily, water should not be allowed to accumulate anywhere in the house.
Mosquito repellent sprays, coils, and mats should be used in homes and offices, and windows and doors should be kept closed.
