Measles, rubella immunization drive to begin from Nov 15
More than 386,000 health professionals, including 76,000 vaccinators and more than 143,000 social mobilizers will take part in the campaign.
A two-week measles and rubella immunization campaign will be launched across Pakistan from tomorrow (November 15).
According to official sources, over ninety million children, aged nine to fifteen years, would be vaccinated against the deadly measles and rubella diseases during the campaign.
More than 386,000 health professionals, including 76,000 vaccinators and more than 143,000 social mobilizers will take part in the campaign.
The teams would pay door-to-door visits and will vaccinate children aged nine months to 15 years against measles and rubella across Peshawar.
Those aged up to five years will also be administered oral polio vaccine during the campaign.
Moreover, the campaign will cover 43,026 public and 20,872 private schools, besides 8,649 madressahs and 1,380 informal schools.
Furthermore, the vaccines will be available free of cost at public health facilities and outreach sites.
