Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Executive Board has approved the $1 billion loan tranche of their programme for Pakistan.

This was announced by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin in a tweet on Wednesday.

“I am pleased to announce that IMF Board has approved 6th traunche of their programme for Pakistan,” the finance minister tweeted. 

Commenting on the update, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry tweeted, “Alhamdulillah, the IMF Board has completed the sixth review board of Pakistan and has decided to issue $1 billion installment to Pakistan, a decision that will help stabilize the economy and reform the process.”
