Lahore shopping plaza fire brought under control after seven hours
The process of cooling is currently underway.
Lahore: Massive fire that broke out in a shopping plaza in the Gulberg area of the city has been doused by the firefighters after a hectic effort of several hours.
About 20 vehicles and 60 rescue workers took part in the hours-long operation.
The fire was put brought under control by the firefighters and the process of cooling is currently underway.
Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry to determine the cause of the fire.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner Umar Sher Chattah in his tweet informed the public that the fire was under control by now. He wrote: A fire at a private shopping mall has been contained. Rescue 1122, fire brigade personnel did a great job. Dangerously managed to control the fire. I constantly supervised the firefighting process myself.”

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The deputy commissioner said that the fire was of A-grade and ordered a thorough investigation into it to find the causes of the fire. Police arrested security in charge of the Pace.
The DC further said that there are more than 400 shops and several counters in the plaza.
