Five members of the family were killed after their car plunged into the canal
Khanpur: A Rescue operation continued on the entire day on Tuesday to search for two missing teenage boys who were feared drowned in a Khanpur canal in Rahim Yar Khan district on late Monday.
Rescue divers, who were engaged in the rescue operation, faced difficulties due to speedy flow of water.
Five members of the same family drowned after their car plunged into the canal on late Monday.
According to details, as many as nine members of the same family were travelling from Khanpur to Rahim Yar Khan when their vehicle plunged into the Abbasia canal near Kot Samaba 86-pul.
On receiving information, teams of Rescue 1122 and police reached the spot and fished out the bodies of five family members while two persons were still missing.
The deceased included Nasreen Bibi (50), Rabia Bibi (30), Faizan (20), Mubashir (7) Atif (9), Rafique and Mushtaq.
Rescuers on Tuesday morning have again started search operation to find out two missing members of the family.
Divers began search from the place where the car accident took place and it lasted as of Tuesday evening. Arsalan Rafique, 18, and Irfan, 15, are still missing.
