Decision would mean that the government will bear the additional burden of Rs30 billion for the fortnight


Islamabad: The government decided on Tuesday to keep the prices of petroleum products unchanged, according to a statement issued by the Finance Division.
The decision was taken in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s order. The Finance Division announced in its fortnightly review that petrol prices would remain unchanged throughout the country.
The statement added that decision would mean that the government will bear the additional burden of Rs30 billion for the fortnight (March 16-31, 2022).
The Ministry of Finance has issued notification of prices of petroleum products, according to which the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs149.86. Besides, the price of high speed diesel has been maintained at Rs144.15, kerosene at Rs125.56 and light diesel at Rs118.31.
