Lahore: More than 2,500 Sikh yatrees are to arrive in Pakistan through the Wahga border crossing next week to celebrate the Vaisakhi festival.
As per details, Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid, Deputy Secretary Imran Gondal, Pardhan Sardar Ameer Singh, and other Sikh leaders and board officials will receive the yatrees.
Rana Shahid said that under the directions of Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman Dr Amir Ahmad, all arrangements including security would be ensured.
The main ceremony would take place at Gurdwara Punja Sahib at Hassan Abdal while the Sikh yatrees will return to India on the 21st of this month.
Also pronounced as Baisakhi, the festival is celebrated every year on April 13 or 14 to mark the Sikh solar new year.
