Constitution protects the ruling of the Speaker in the National Assembly: Shah Mahmood Qureshi
"The affairs of Parliament should remain in Parliament"

Islamabad: Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the constitution protects the ruling of the Speaker in the National Assembly and this protection is enjoyed by the Speaker under Article 69 of the Constitution.
Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he was ready for investigations to prove whether the letter of the foreign conspiracy was authentic or not.
“We are ready to probe into the authenticity of the memo,” he said and rejected the opposition’s remarks against those sitting in the foreign office and said that they were responsible people.
The former foreign minister said that the most important point in the Supreme Court is the ruling of the Deputy Speaker.
Talking to the media, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the affairs of Parliament should remain in Parliament. “Our view is that the ruling of the speaker is final. In the 73rd constitution, each pillar of the state has its own responsibility,” he said.
Regarding the united opposition, Qureshi said that he was saying that the deputy speaker had violated the constitution. He left the no-confidence vote incomplete and adjourned the assembly, which he considered unconstitutional.
During the discussion, FM Qureshi said that our opinion is different from that of the opposition and that the Speaker has the full power of rolling and his decision is final. Article 69 protects the rolling of the speaker. There are no two opinions on this.
