The ECP is bound by the country’s constitution to hold general elections within 90 days of the dissolution of the National Assembly.


Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday directed all provinces to complete delimitation work within four months, GNN reported.
According to details, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja chaired a crucial meeting of the electoral body on the current political situation of the country today at 10am.
The meeting discussed its future course of action regarding conduct of general election, following the delimitation of constituencies.
In this regard, the electoral body has also sought a detailed plan from the concerned authorities, demanding the government to provide funds for new general elections.
Yesterday, Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Javed Khan stated that the ECP is bound by the country’s constitution to hold general elections within 90 days of the dissolution of the National Assembly.
